The Societies premises which includes the

Founded 1880,
The Royal Art Society consists of a Gallery and Art School with a membership of over 400.It is one of the oldest societies in Australia. It has a membership of mainly painters, who are selected by their peers to the classification Associate and Fellow. Social membership is also welcomed.

The Lavender Bay Gallery
The Royal Art Societies Lavender Bay Gallery has exhibitions of members paintings including the major Spring and Autumn shows. The gallery is available for hire.

The Art School
The art school has lessons catering for all subjects and mediums including landscape, portrait, still life and life drawing. It is 200 metres from North Sydney railway station.
A diploma course is offered to students.
